Portrait of Lo Meulen

Biography

After early work with local bands, Lo Meulen joined Aroma di Amore in 1983, forming a long-running creative nucleus with Elvis Peeters and Fred Angst. From 1987 to 1996 he lived in London and performed with 13 Frightened Girls. He returned to Aroma di Amore for its 2004 revival and remained through the farewell tour ending at Ancienne Belgique in 2022. Alongside this history, he developed music for video installations and exhibitions and an audiovisual practice in which sound, film and live image continually reshape one another. Since 2022, he has released work under his own name.
